Ins and Outs

A homeowner should feel comfortable and safe with their home.  A thorough understanding of how the house works can be gained with the help of a certified home inspector.  Whether you are buying, selling, or are an existing homeowner, a home inspection can provide you with the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of your house.

Landscaping is a great way to add beauty and value to your home.

Allowing gutter gardens to grow, as seen in these pictures, can lead to gutter damage in addition to roof and foundation problems.

It is important to prioritize you gutter cleaning.  Keep gutters clear of debris and maintain proper downspout flow away from the foundation of the structure.  This is a preventative defense against early deterioration.

Regular roof inspections are important when it comes to house maintenance.  Most homeowners do not feel comfortable taking an afternoon stroll on our roofs.  Browning Home Inspections can do that for you.

John has inspected thousands of rooftops.  Whether it is up high or down low, John has the ability and knowledge to be your eyes in those places of the house you may not want to go.

Inspector John took these pictures during a routine home inspection.  You can see why most of us will never see the dark depths of our crawl spaces without the aid of a professional.  When buying a home we usually don't think to look in these areas, but it is as important to have inspected as the rest of the house.

This chimney is a perfect example of the importance of a home inspection.  From the ground everything may look fine, but from BHI's perspective we can see that the chimney is missing it's crown.  Without a crown all the wrong parts are exposed to outdoor elements.  This requires immediate attention to prevent further damage.  Had no inspection been performed, the new homeowners could have had an unpleasant surprise.

When all the conditions are just right, even a shingled roof top can support the needs of fungi.

It can be difficult to know for sure whether there may or may not be trouble spots with a roof unless someone takes a look.  For your safety, an experienced inspector should be considered to tackle this job.

Inside this attic a bird nest was found.  For safety and health reasons it is extremely important to have a professional remove the nesting materials.  Having any type of animal or insect intrusion into a home can cause a possible health concern.

To ensure your peace of mind, have your attic inspected regularly.  Major trouble could arise if holes or cracks go unnoticed or if they are ignored.

Critters love to live in attics.  It provides shelter for them and their families without fear of human interaction.

Keep in mind that moisture, like rain or humidity, needs only a tiny hole or crack to create damage.
